Super Bowl Monday?
Hi!!
So before I start I have the need to gloat a little and say GO PATS! Ok...and done!
I know that last night's game wasn't the most eventful super bowl of all time, but being a New England Patriots fan (from New England) I'm pretty happy about the win.
Ok- So, it's Monday, the day after Super Bowl Sunday, and I am currently writing this blog, while my 5-year-old daughter is drawing next to me, and my 8-year-old son is playing math games on his laptop.
Yep...I kept my kids home from school today. Here's the thing, we were with family watching the game until the end, which ended after 10pm... Our usual bedtime is to get into bed at 7:30 asleep by 8:30, so the fact that they got to stay up that late was a total treat.
When I woke up this morning, I had two options...
1) pull me out of bed and wake up my sleeping kids to get them ready for school, where they most likely will be grumpy, and distracted, and tired all day making their wonderful teachers regret not taking a sick day.
OR...
2) Let them sleep in, (which meant I got to stay in bed and sleep a little longer as well) and have a day to catch up and reset for a great day at school on Tuesday.
I obviously chose the latter. And now they are fighting and whining, and I'm threatening to take them to school if they don't stop it!... What was I thinking keeping them home today?! 😜
Seriously though, there has to be a couple of Mondays that are optional, or declared a national holiday! Am I right?!
Let me know your thoughts! Did anyone keep their kids home today too?!
Thanks for reading!
Cheers,
Mom Sassy
